This weeks Question:
How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?
Well, usually I try to give the book several chapters before giving up because I don't like to give up, especially if I paid for the book.  Most of the time I can power through but there have been a few times where I am just so not interested or too disturbed to continue.

  1. I hate to DNF a book but I've been doing it more and more lately. Thanks for stopping by my FF. Following via GFC.

  2. If I paid for a book, you can bet I'll try my hardest to power through it. I'd hate to think my money went to waste. But yeah, sometimes even sheer will is not enough to help you through a book.

  3. Oh yeah! If I pay for a book, especially a hard copy, I will finish it! Good point!

  4. Thanks for stopping by my FF, Laura. I also hate not finishing a book, but life's too short and if I'm not enjoying a certain book, I'll move on to the next. There are always thousands of books waiting to be read.

New follower, and I've followed you back via GFC!

  5. I try to finish them, no matter how long it takes. I do admit that I had to take a few books off my NG reading list this week after this FF. Ones I've tried but just couldn't get in to. I gave each book at least an hour of my time, but after that I just didn't want to waste anymore time.

  6. Excellent point re: finishing a purchased book. I did that with "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?" I would have DNFed if I hadn't paid for it.

  9. I used to power through but I no longer have the time and it turned reading into a chore. There are too many books on my tbr pile for me to feel guilty and I’m picky about what I read, so only have 1 DNF so far!
